You know how you never think about automatic transmissions until they grind to a halt? And how only super gearheads give two Fs about transmissions and gear ratios when car shopping? Foot pockets are kinda like that with our dive set ups. When I picked up new carbon blades (BTS 4x carbon- 1000% worth the $), it dawned on me that I should pick up new foot pockets. And it was worth it. These pockets are supple, do a good job of directing power from flesh to blade, and are super comfy. As a SoCal (and warmer) diver I don’t wear boots or socks and five hours of diving on my first day with these didn’t give me so much as a red mark on my wide-ass feet with all their bumps, scars and callouses from knee paddling surfboards. The fit is a little different than other fin pockets (run big it seems), but Natalie at BTS set me up with the exact right size… which is the benefit of buying from an actual spearfishing shop and not Amazon or other online retailer. In this situation, I started out wanting to buy a more expensive brand name set of foot pockets cuz I knew the brand, but Natalie was like “No dude, these Motus will work better for you both in fit and performance with those particular blades.” And so they do.
